As the title says if you are a chrome user and don't want to see the advertisements on the forum simply go here:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/adblock/gighmmpiobklfepjocnamgkkbiglidom?hl=en

Install the extension and you won't see ads on any more websites. Figured I'd share this with you all.

Bump

I have used ABP(addblock plus) for years. Not sure if the new versions still block commercials on youtube and other sites but it is very nice add on. I watch Fox shows and Crackle without commercials. It used to work on Hulu years ago. I remember reading something about them refusing to allow ads unless they are paid, maybe that's what Hulu did. maybe that is why litigation is being threatened....

In recent news:Microsoft, Google, and a group of French publishers are reportedly planning to sue developers of ad-blocking software because it has been a bit too effective and popular.

Also use Ghostery 5.4.1 to block trackers and social media buttons.

I also use like 3 flash blockers but that is just me.

The ads have been removed from our forum but it's definitely nice to have for other sites. I believe it removes ads from YouTube as it seems I do not get them anymore. However, I feel sometimes it can slow down my browser, but maybe that's just me. I've definitely seen an increase in websites replacing their hidden advertisements with images that say something along the lines of "Ads support our site pls turn off ad-block".

I could see why Microsoft would want to sue them but I'm not sure if they have strong enough ground to do so. I don't know very much about e-law but I don't really think the Adblock is doing anything illegal
